This consultation is for people with an already-diagnosed autoimmune disease — such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma or Sjögren's syndrome — who need to continue their follow-up remotely. It is especially useful if you already have a treating physician and want to review your treatment, discuss recent symptoms or clarify test results without travelling.
During the appointment, the doctor reviews your history, current medication and any available lab results, assesses disease activity from the symptoms you describe, and adjusts treatment when appropriate. It is also the moment to guide the management of immunosuppressive therapy — side effects, adherence and monitoring — and to request the follow-up tests you need.
A video consultation does not replace the physical examination needed in some situations: assessing joints, skin or organ involvement, as well as the initial diagnosis of a suspected autoimmune disease, usually requires an in-person visit and targeted tests. If your condition worsens with warning signs, the doctor will direct you to an in-person assessment or the appropriate service.
